Nearsighted vs. Farsighted

What is the difference between being nearsighted and farsighted? Nearsighted is when objects viewed close up are clear, but things far away are blurry. This usually occurs when the eye is longer than average. Farsighted is when objects viewed far away are clear, but things up close are blurry. This occurs when the eye is shorter than average. Glasses and/or contact lenses, in most cases, can help nearsightedness and farsightedness. -Brooke Fish, Optometric Assistant
