Don’t wait for an eye injury to see the eye doctor! After removing a small imbedded fragment of metal from a patient’s eye, I examined the back of his eyes and noticed signs of glaucoma. After further testing, he did in fact have glaucoma and had already suffered significant vision loss. Due to the gradual and painless nature of glaucoma, he was unaware of the problem.
