Age Related Macular Degeneration

Nearly 15 million Americans have evidence of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), a disease that breaks down the macula on the retina. Early symptoms include blurred or dark central vision, which can be detected early through a comprehensive eye exam. Risk factors: smoking, hypertension, obesity, and family history o...f AMD. Although there is no cure for AMD at this time, certain treatments can slow vision loss.
